👉 SEBI has announced an extension of the deadline for demat and mutual fund account holders to provide nominations.
Here are the key details:
👉 New Deadline: June 30, 2024
👉 Purpose:
– The extension aims to provide investors with more time to secure their assets and nominate beneficiaries.
– Investors can also opt out of nomination by submitting a declaration form.
👉 How to Add a Nominee to Demat Account:
1. Visit NSDL’s portal at nsdl.co.in.
2. Click on the ‘Nominate Online’ option on the homepage.
3. Enter DP ID, client ID, PAN, and OTP.
4. Choose between ‘I wish to Nominate’ and ‘I do not wish to nominate.’
5. If adding a nominee, provide the nominee’s details.
6. E-sign using Aadhaar and OTP.
👉 How to Add a Nominee for MF Folios:
1. Nominate at the time of investment or later.
2. Visit the Mutual Fund house’s official portal or NSDL website to update nominations.
3. Up to 3 nominees can be added, with the option to specify the share for each nominee.
4. The nomination form must be signed by all unit holders.
5. For demat account investments, the nomination details submitted to the depository also apply to mutual fund holdings.
