Link PAN with Aadhaar by May 31 to Avoid Higher TDS

Deadline: Link PAN with Aadhaar by May 31, 2024, to avoid higher TDS under Sections 206AA and 206CC of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

How to Link PAN with Aadhaar:
1. Visit [Income Tax E-Filing Portal](https://ww.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in).

2. Select ‘Link Aadhaar’ under ‘Quick Links’.

3. Enter PAN, Aadhaar number, name (as per Aadhaar), and mobile number.

4. Enter OTP sent to your mobile and click ‘Validate’.

Check Linkage Status:
1. Visit [Link Aadhaar Status](https://www.incometax.go.in/iec/foportal/).

2. Enter PAN and Aadhaar numbers.

3. View linkage status.

Implications:
– Higher tax deductions and collections.

– PAN becomes inoperative if not linked by the deadline for transactions before March 31, 2024.
